Description
Made by Luisa Abram in Sao Paulo, Brazil – Acará 70% Wild Chocolate is the result of a special partnership between the chocolate maker and the ribeirinhos (river dwellers) Iolanda and Francisco, who live on the banks of the Arauaia River, a tributary of the Acará River in the Brazilian Amazon.
Iolanda and Francisco, along with eight other local river families, harvest wild cacao that grows naturally along the riverbanks of the Arauaia, Acará, and Guamá rivers. By purchasing directly from these families, they ensure that the beans undergo meticulous fermentation and drying—essential steps for developing the unique flavor profile of the Acara cacao.
The result is an 70% dark wild chocolate bar with strong woody notes and subtle caramelized undertones, offering a rich, complex tasting experience.
Acara is one of our favorite chocolates for rum pairings. With the 2025 harvest, the chocolate became even more complex and intriguing.
