Karuna
Karuna Chocolate is an artisan bean-to-bar chocolate maker located in the heart of the Italian Alps, in South Tyrol. Established by Katya Waldboth and Armin Untersteiner, South Tyrol’s earliest pioneers in bean-to-bar production. They meticulously sort, roast, and refine small batches of ultra-premium cacao beans sourced from Latin America, Asia, and Africa
The couple’s journey began in 2014 in South India, where they discovered cacao farming and the craft chocolate movement. Returning home, they found no one in the region was making chocolate from scratch—and so they turned their newfound passion into their life’s work.
Karuna uses only ethically sourced ingredients: fine flavor beans, raw cane sugar from Brazil, and cacao butter from Ecuador and Peru.
Their products have received international acclaim, including awards from the International Chocolate Awards, Academy of Chocolate, and more. Karuna continues to fuse heartfelt craftsmanship, premium ingredients, and environmental responsibility into their chocolate creations.
