Auro
Auro Chocolate is an award-winning bean to bar chocolate brand. It is rooted in Filipino heritage and built on sustainable practices. The company works directly with local cacao farmers.
The brand was founded by Kelly Go and Mark Ocampo. They grew up in the Philippines but first met in Chicago more than a decade ago. Their shared love of food and culture brought them together.
In 2015, they returned to the Philippines to create Auro Chocolate and make a difference through fine chocolate.
Auro is hands-on in sourcing, production, and community work. Their values include traceability, transparency, innovation, and stewardship. They empower farmers with fair trade, training, price premiums, and good agricultural practices.
In 2019, partner farmer Jose Saguban’s cacao was recognized as one of the world’s Top 20 Best Cacao Beans at Paris’s Salon du Chocolat. He was the first Filipino farmer to achieve this honor.
