Description
This rare heirloom cocoa grows on the mountainous slopes of the Urubamba Valley (Sacred Valley) at around 1000 m above sea level. Centuries-old mother trees reflect a long tradition of cocoa cultivation. Chuncho cocoa is considered one of the original varieties and is prized for its rich, complex aroma. The company Asocasel handles the fermentation for farmers around Quillabamba, while Original Beans manages the project under continuous supervision and exports the cocoa.
