Description
This single-origin dark chocolate is made with cacao from the Semuliki Forest in western Uganda, where smallholder farmers grow cacao in a landscape of tropical forests and fertile volcanic soils. Svenska Kakao crafts the bar with just two ingredients—cacao beans and cane sugar—allowing the character of the cacao to shine through.
The cacao is sourced through Semuliki Forest Cacao, an organisation that works with more than 1,000 farming families in the region. By paying premium prices for high-quality cacao and investing in careful fermentation and drying, the project helps farmers improve both quality and income while preserving the unique character of the local cacao.
Like all of Svenska Kakao’s chocolates, this bar is made from carefully selected cacao beans in small batches at their factory in Skåne, Sweden.
