Grown under the Cabruca method in Bahia, each cacao variety is cultivated under the shade of native trees in the Atlantic Forest, a sustainable farming practice that preserves the natural ecosystem and enhances the flavor and quality of the cacao beans.

Mestico is a Brazilian tree-to-bar chocolate brand with a farm in Bahia and a factory store in São Paulo. Their work focuses on exploring different cacao varieties, cultivated under the Cabruca method.

Cacao was introduced to Bahia over 200 years ago and has thrive in the unique biome of the Atlantic Forest. Mestico’s main line features a range of cacao varieties, from well-known Forastero and Trinitario to varieties native to Bahia like Catongo and Bonança, offering a full immersive tasting experience of cacao domestication in the region.
