KUYAY
Kuyay is a Peruvian tree-to-bar chocolate company founded by Carolina León and Jonathan Reyna. The name “Kuyay” translates to “love” in Quechua, reflecting their passion for crafting high-quality chocolate from unique cacao varieties.
The makers own Finca Quya, a cacao farm in the Bagua Grande district of the Amazonas region in northern Peru. Their clonal garden houses 135 different native cacao varieties, emphasizing their commitment to preserving genetic diversity.
Kuyay oversees the entire production process, from cultivation to post-harvest, ensuring meticulous fermentation and drying techniques, which allows them to produce single origin chocolate that highlight the distinctive flavor notes of their Amazonian cacao.
